This year, we at ArteEast are urging everyone we know to contribute just $5 in support of programs that bring the arts and culture of the Middle East to a broad audience in the United States and around the world.

In 2008 alone, ArteEast brought the works of contemporary Middle Eastern filmmakers, artists and writers to thousands of individuals, whose perspectives on the region have been deepened through this new exposure. ArteEast programs have reached audiences in New York, Toronto, Boston, Sao Paulo, Edinburgh, Istanbul, Ramallah, Chicago and many other cities around the globe. Our online resources, including a virtual gallery of the visual arts and translations of new creative writing, have reached many more art lovers, students and people like you throughout the world, with over 100,000 unique hits each month.

At every ArteEast event, we get enthusiastic feedback from individuals who are learning about the diversity of opinions and creative output from the region for the very first time. For less than the cost of a movie ticket, you can help us to increase the number of people ArteEast can reach next year.
